After you've adopted:
Carefully consider whether or not you would like to make your new cat indoors only.  While cats may seem to enjoy their outdoor time it does present a few challenges.  Outdoor cats are more likely to come into contact with cats in the area which can lead to cat fights and/or FeLV (leukemia) and other cat transmissible diseases.  There is also the possiblity of being hit by a car, picking up fleas, ticks, heartworm disease and wildlife encounters. 

Always give your new cat some time to adjust to their new environment keeping them confined to a room of their own for at least two weeks.  Be sure to provide them with their own food, water, litterbox and toys.  For further information regarding your new feline, contact us at (916) 988-7111.
